When your want more sales from your ecommerce store who do you call?

When you are feeling poorly and under the weather, when you know you are not at your best, when you are fed up of feeling crap and you want to get better, what do you do?

Ok, some of you may try to fix the problem yourself first. You might not want to admit you have a problem. After all, it feels good to sort out our own problems. We are taught to be independent, carry our own bag… It wouldn’t be right to scream “help” at the first sign of trouble.

But what do you do next, when you realise you still can’t fix it? When your heart sinks and you feel like a failure because you couldn’t fix your problem?

Do you call a friend? Do you admit it to your nearest and dearest that you need help?

Of course! That’s what friends are for. I know I would be pretty miffed if any of my friends were suffering in silence with something and the never asked for help. Even if they didn’t ask for help from me, i would hope they would ask another close friend.

What would we do without our friends?

But what if even our friends couldn’t help? What if you were feeling like all hope had gone… There is the last option.

Professional help.

You go to the doctor. You see someone who knows the answer. Or if they don’t know the answer they can help you find the answer.

So that’s your personal life.

What about in your business?

When your e-commerce store isn’t bringing in the sales, what do you do?

Do you try to fix it yourself?

You can but you know you will have a learning curve to climb and your time is precious! And, what if you still can’t fix the problem?

Do you ask a friend?

If they have an e-commerce store too, yes, they could help, but even if they have a store, are they likely to know your market and your business like you do? And, will they be willing to spend the time necessary to work out the solutions to YOUR problems?

It’s not really fair to ask them is it, let’s be honest.

So the only solution really is to seek professional help – from someone who knows how to find and fix problems.

It’s the quickest, surest way to solving your online sales problems.

I see myself as a bit of a doctor. My ‘patients’ come to me with the same problem and I assess them and offer solutions.

The first thing I do is find out everything I can about the current store performance, and that means analytics! The analytics tools I use are;

  • Google Analytics, preferably with enhanced e-commerce set up.
  • HotJar tracking for heat maps, user recordings, funnel tracking and polls.
  • Platform analytics for the e-commerce platform you are using to run your store.

I then gather the data and make my assessment. This is delivered in a report that explains what is going wrong and what can be done to fix it.
