When I first met Karen online, I was a complete novice and knew nothing about building a website for my coaching business. All I had was a vague idea in my head about I wanted it to look like but no clue where to start.
I worked with Karen over 2 programmes (and look forward to some more): the first was a free challenge to build a landing page in an hour and the second was a paid coaching programme on how to build a WordPress website. The challenge was extremely interesting and Karen was there to answer my questions and patiently guided me through the process.
Next, the coaching programme was excellent as not only did it result in a completed website for me but I can now make changes to my website myself whenever I need to. During the coaching programme, Karen and her company, Weider Web Solutions, was fantastic in providing guidance, knowledge and a professional service. Karen went out of her way to break down the website-building process to meet my needs and answer all my questions via email, however silly they were!
There are many things I valued about the prompt service Weider Web Solutions provides, but one of the things that stands out is that when starting out with my website, I didn’t know what I didn’t know – Karen took the time to explain what needed to be done and also the pros and cons of each factor, thereby enabling me to make informed decisions about how I wanted to go forward with my website.
Frequently asked questions
What exactly do I get with WordPress coaching?
You will get a three month coaching plan. If three months isn’t long enough to learn everything you want to learn we can extend this but 3 months is the minimum.
Depending on what you want to learn and how fast you want to learn, you will get a number of training sessions. Each session consists of a live call where I will teach you something, you will get to copy me on your website at the same time as the live training or copy on a demo website that I can provide. Then you get 2 weeks of priority email support to help and support you while you implement the training to build the website you want. I will give you ‘homework’ to do so your learning is put to good use.
Why is this service different from other WordPress coaching services?
I am different because I am not only a coach, I am actually building websites for people and maintaining. I don’t just ‘talk the talk’, I ‘walk the walk’. Some coaches only coach, they don’t do.
I also have many years experience working with SEO and analytics, performance optimisation, e-commerce and conversion rate optimisation so I can keep you focused on what you need to do on your website for it to work for your business. I’m not here to just show you how to build a pretty website, I’m here to help you use it wisely to grow your business too!
Oh and did I mention I’m a technical nerd. I’ve been a software engineer all my life so most technical issues I can find a fix for. I’m not just jumping on the coaching bandwagon and repeating same old ‘WordPress how to’ videos to you, I am offering you real support from someone who has been in the WordPress trenches for years.
Is website coaching for me?
Building your website yourself shouldn’t be a task to take on lightly. There is a huge time cost that comes with it. Can you put a monetary value on your time? Some of my clients have spend hundreds of hours struggling with their website before getting help. Getting coaching will help you;
- Reduce the learning curve time
- Get you up and running in much less time
- Avoid many of the technical and design mistakes you will make on your own
- Give you a source of help and support when you need it most
- Benefit from years of WordPress experience
Before embarking on the DIY route ask yourself;
- Would you be the best choice for building your website if you were building it for someone else?
- Do you have the time to spare?
- Do you have the patience to learn?
- Can you cope with the frustration when the technical problems happen and there is very little support?
It takes a certain type of mentality to be successful with a DIY web build.
Even though website builders and themes exists they still need a learning curve, technical skill and an eye for design to get right.
Website builders such as WIX and Squarespace can help you get started quickly but while they offer simplicity they are not very flexible and you can quickly outgrow them if your websites needs grow (look at what you may need in the future with a bespoke marketing website). That’s why WordPress is so great. It’s flexible and grows as your business grows. Costs can be managed, especially if you are on a budget.
How will WordPress coaching benefit me?
You will learn how to build your own website. This will enable to build more websites in the future if you need to. You will also be able to update and modify your website quickly without having to rely on expensive, slow support. You will master of your ship, or website 🙂
How flexible are your coaching packages?
I have offered coaching services for a little over a year and I have learned that a one size fits all approach doesn’t work. Everyones skill level is different and what might be easy for one may be hard as hell for another. Before I build your coaching package I will ask you about your skill level and what you want to achieve and your timescales and I will suggest a plan that fits with that.
Overwhelm is one of the biggest hurdles when it comes to building a website so my process focuses on planning one live training session per month followed by email support for that month. The following month we move on to another topic. If you want to go quicker we can.
What do you cover in your sessions?
Depending on your experience and needs we can cover some or all of the following, you can request a topic if it is not covered here;
- WordPress basics, adding pages, adding media, the editor etc.
- Visually branding your website with your logo and colours
- WordPress maintenance – how to safely update your software and plugins using a staging site
- WordPress security
- Making your site search engine friendly
- Google analytics
- Adding lead generation forms to your website
- What to include in your content (home page, about, services, sales pages)
- How to add forms
- Woo commerce
Have you got testimonials
Yes, please see my coaching testimonials.
How much does it cost?
A two hour live session with 2 weeks email support while you implement is £250. If you are in the EU or UK I will add VAT on top. If you need further email support while you implement this will be charged at £75 per week.
So if you are keen and put the time in, we can cover quite a lot in 2 hours. This can be a great way to learn how to build your website. If you prefer to put things off and don’t take immediate action then this probably isn’t the best service for you.
The final price will depend on how many sessions you require.
What is the process?
Email me your questions at firstname.lastname@example.org. Then we can set up a 15 minutes call to finalise any details and I can explain anything else you need explaining. If after that you want to go ahead I will plan out a three month training plan and I will finalise the price. Upon payment we will select the training days and put them in diary. Then we can get started on building your website!
Do you provide any guarantees?
The outcome of this service depends on your ability to implement quickly and to ask for support when you need it, within the time frame. If you cannot do that, you won’t be successful. I cannot offer a guarantee on how you will perform. I can guarantee that I will provide the training you request and the support you need.
